10.00am Experience Sheffield Exhibition - The Foundry, Level 2, Students’ Union

Discover what life at the University of Sheffield is all about. You can choose to take tours of our campus, libraries, sports facilities and our award-winning accommodation. You can also find out about everything from finance, studying abroad and career preparation to sport and accommodation, or chat to someone from the Students' Union about Sheffield's buzzing social scene and our student societies.

1.30pm Arrival at the Department of Archaeology and refreshments - Northgate House, West Street

Enjoy a hot drink and other refreshments, and talk with current students and members of teaching staff about their fieldwork and research.

2.00pm Archaeology at Sheffield

Learn more about studying archaeology at Sheffield, what makes our programmes distinctive and the opportunities available to our students, with Admissions Tutor, Dr Jane Rempel.

2.30pm Hands-on archaeology

Find out what studying archaeology at Sheffield is like in small group tours of the department and our facilities. Along the way you will experience a lab class in a mini-practical with some of our departmental collections of bones, fossils and archaeological materials, learn more about staff research and teaching interests in a short lecture and have the opportunity to talk to our current students about their fieldwork, classes and research projects.

3.30pm Careers in archaeology

Discover possible future career directions and how we will support your academic and career development, with Colin Merrony, our Teaching Fellow and Fieldwork Officer.

3.45pm Final Q&A and informal discussion

A chance to find out answers to any specific questions you might have and to have a last chat with our staff and students.

4.00pm Finish
