LGBT & faith discussion group
Fresh from securing a top 100 place in Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index and picking up a Best Practice in Community Engagement award, the University of Sheffield is marking Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) History Month 2014, which takes place in February, with a series of events open to all staff, students and guests.
Among these is the launch of the LGBT and faith discussion group, a joint initiative between the Hidden Perspectives project, led by Dr Katie Edwards of the Department of Biblical Studies, and the Students’ Union LGBT Committee.
The launch takes place at on Wednesday 19 February 2014 at 7.30-9pm, and the group will meet monthly thereafter to discuss various themes, stories and passages from the Bible with LGBT issues, readings and perspectives in mind.
Snacks and drinks are provided and the discussions are informal, lively and respectful.
